The collections inventory check is an inspection operation to check the presence and state of all the specimens inventoried, on the piece and on site. As for the inventory, it is an obligation established by the 2002 Museums Law. The inventory check must be carried out every 10 years. The first was completed at the Museum of Bordeaux. at the national deadline of June 2014.
The inventory check regards all of the collections and enables to check where they are, whether they are exhibited, conserved in reserves, or outside the premises, held in trust or on loan for study or exhibition in other institutions.
