The educational offer for leisure in the Museum of natural history of Bordeaux - Science and nature propose a visit of the semi-permanent exhibition The Aquitaine coast

The Aquitaine coast

The Aquitaine coast stands out for its three special ecosystems which are represented by three display islands that present several common species of flora and fauna. Around this gallery in the Museum of Bordeaux, you can explore the dune which is the physical barrier between the beach and the forest. Another island contains a recreation of the foreshore which is covered and then uncovered by the tide. Then there is the representation of Arcachon Bay which is a unique mass of landscapes.

Learn more about the birds, shellfish and plants you can easily spot when taking a walk along the Atlantic coast.

Eat me if you can!

Every animal needs to eat. Food supplies energy to grow, move and reproduce. Nutritional needs are met by a whole range of different feeding systems, diets and digestive processes.

The Museum of Bordeaux lifts the lid on animal feeding using a selection of scientific illustrations to understand this topic more easily. You will also find everyday tools that represent the food acquisition organs of the different species presented.
